MichaelSperanza Photography is Michael and Nicola Speranza.

Michael is a freelance photographer who, until the move to Haslemere in 2004, lived with his wife Nicola, three cats, a rabbit and a number of tropical fish in Spitalfields in the centre of London where he was born.

Michael trained to be a solicitor and spent 6 years working as a property finance lawyer in the City. That followed a two year training contract, a year of Law School and a four year degree.

Throughout it all, however, Michael annoyed pretty much everyone by always having his camera on him.

When their daughter Mia was born in April 2005 this proved to be the catalyst that Michael and Nicola needed.

Where before a four hour daily commute was acceptable in the name of high earnings, with his daughter quickly growing up Michael decided that there was more to life than hours on the train and the odd weekend with his daughter. The time had come to call it quits, and a chance comment in early May of 'those photos really are quite good,' was all Michael needed. He knew he'd found his alternative to a life in the City and with the support of Nicola's skills at running a business, MichaelSperanza Photography was born.

Now Michael and Nicola provide a number of photographic services including weddings, event photography, maternity and child photography under the banner of Cheeky Monkey Photography and the provision of artistic prints and stock images.
